Summer Vacation Hook Up

The heat surrounded me the moment I walked out on the patio. I wasn’t looking for a summer vacation hook up, I was looking forward to five days in paradise. No phones or emails, just blue skies and no responsibilities.

I grabbed a lounge chair near the pool and ordered a frozen margarita. I slipped off my sandals and enjoyed the sunshine glinting off the water.  It was an all-adult resort, and there were no kids screaming and splashing. It was heaven and exactly what I needed after the long year I had had.

That is when I noticed him, my soon-to-be vacation hook up.

In one of the cabanas across the pool sat a man in dark swim trunks and a white shirt unbuttoned, vacation hook up worthy for sure. I couldn’t see his eyes; his sunglasses were too dark, but I could feel him watching me. When I would look over, he would look away slowly enough that I would see he had been looking.

Really, I had tried to look away, I tried to ignore him, but after my second margarita, I was too curious. I stood up, adjusted my bikini, and headed for the bar. He must have seen me because he ended up there at the same moment.

He said something cheesy about having the same idea, (was he thinking vacation hook up?)

I couldn’t see past the smile in his eyes and his sculpted body. Up close, this was a whole new feast for my eyes. As my attention refocused, I heard him asking me if I wanted to join him in the cabana. I started thinking about all the reasons I should say no and then remembered I was on vacation and should definitely say yes to the possibility of a vacion hook up.

We got our drinks and walked to the cabana. It was cooler in there, away from the blazing sun. A bottle of champagne was chilling next to a fruit tray, which neither of us touched. I mentioned that this was so extravagant, he laughed and told me something about vacation rules. Something about this little space felt intimate and so private.

We were in our own little world in this vaction hook up encounter.

People went about their own vacations while we talked. One hour turned into two. Stretched out on the oversized cushions, the fading sun shone through the curtains.

Between the drinks, the heat, and the lack of food, I was more than a little buzzed. I told him I was happy we had met. He closed the curtains and came back to the lounge. When he sat down, he leaned in to kiss me. It felt like the natural next step in this vacation hook up.

The kiss was slow and teasing. He poured another drink, and our conversation continued. We ordered some light food to be eaten poolside. While we talked, our bodies moved closer. I realized I really wanted this cliché vacation hook up. Words turned into kisses, kisses turned into exploring. Neither of us had touched the pool, but I was getting moist all the same.

We paused a moment to listen outside.

The pool noises had quieted down, and people had gone to dinner or wherever they went after a day at the pool. Then time just started to blur. We tied the curtains closed and expanded on exploring each other’s bodies. I opened up in more ways than one that warm island evening. Just two strangers allowing themselves a perfect escape in this vacation hook up.

At one point, we put our suits back on, and we finally slipped into the pool to cool off. We retreated back to the cabana as he handed me a resort towel. He brushed a curl from my face and whispered how beautiful I was in my ear.

Neither of us wanted this hook up to end, so we stayed talking and continued exploring. We realized this vacation hookup had become something a little more meaningful. It wasn’t forever, but it was right now!
