Only The Lonely

In homes and apartment buildings around the world, there are many who are part of an “Only the Lonely Club”. You may ask what is that. This tale is about a friend, a beautiful black man, named Matt. He couldn’t stop talking about his sexy neighbor, Lisa. She’s a little blonde cutie who teaches in a school. She’s quiet and shy, but I think she likes Matt. He never admitted to liking her whenever I asked him, but he lit up like a Christmas tree when she was around. Watching these two is like Reality TV. LOL. Denial is such a strange thing. So, what to do to nudge these two lovely souls together? I get into their business, of course.

Only the lonely need help too. Therefore, I jumped in the very next time I was visiting Matt. As I was about to knock on his door, I could hear some really great music playing inside. Then, Lisa stepped outside her door and saw me. She gave me a small smile, but, I could actually see her heart sink through her eyes. She obviously thought I might be his “lady” and it was clear she felt some kind of way about seeing me. Her look was sort of proprietary about him. But, my smile back at her was one of sympathy. I wanted to ease her mind that I was just a friend with no benefits… yet. My balled-up fist fell before I knocked and I turned toward her.

Help For A Bad Situation.

She could tell in those few moments that I read her as only the lonely and her gaze dropped even further until she was basically looking at the carpet in the hall. When I spoke her name, she looked up in shock. “Lisa?” I said tentatively. “Hi, Matty told me your name. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to startle you.” She looked relieved and smiled softly at me. Next, I asked if we could talk for a minute and she said yes. She opened her apartment door again and tilted her head to go inside with her. We quickly sat down and I started right in since I knew Matty would be wondering where I was soon. “Can I ask you a question, Lisa?” She looked wary again, but she replied with a  ready yes.

“You look like someone in need of a little help.” I know someone who’s lonely when I see them. So, before she could get defensive, I added, “Matt is too, though neither of you looks like you would have trouble finding a good partner.” I continued, “Do you even know how much he likes you” At that moment I saw the corners of her lips curl into a smile. “He does? He’s never even looked at me…” her voice trailed off. I continued, “Well, he’s looked plenty, but he says he thinks you already have a man. Do you?” Lisa answered meekly again, “No. I haven’t in a long time.” The NEED for a man’s touch was evident in her voice. I said, “Neither has he. What I’d like to do is try to get you two together. Would you like that? I know he would.

The Cure for The Lonely…

Only the Lonely sometimes need a little help. And I was going to fix the problem for them. I told Lisa that I was going back to my car and I wanted her to knock at his door and ask for (of ALL things) a cup of sugar. Hehe. And I promised her that he would invite her to step inside and that she would be safe doing so. She said she felt more than comfortable going inside his home. I crept back down the stairs toward my car but lingered on the next flight down. What? I’m a nosey little helper. I know. Giggle. Lisa knocked and Matty answered, I peered around the railing and saw his sexy smile when he saw her there. I bet he thought it would be me. Haha.

However, I couldn’t hear what only the lonely said. He opened the door further and she walked in. I waited for thirty minutes but Lisa didn’t come back out. So, I crept back up the stairs and pressed my ear to the door hoping like hell it wouldn’t suddenly swing open. What I heard convinced me that Matt had the bull by the horns. They were engaged in the pleasures of the flesh. LOL. Her moans could be heard as I descended the steps and I smiled as I pushed the door open and got to my car. Ah, what a little work can do for others. My work was done here. I waited hours for Matt to call and tell me every salacious detail. Trust me, it was worth the wait. They got jiggy with it!
