She won’t be eligible for her scholarship if she gets suspended. I don’t know what I am going to do.” Mrs. H replied as she leaned forward putting her face into her hands with tears flowing.

“It’s just been so hard for us.”

“I understand Mrs. H but she has to be punished for this behavior.” Mr. G said putting his hand gently on her shoulder.

“Is there any way I can change your mind about the suspension? She has already been through so much and losing her scholarship would crush her.”

“I could get fired for this but how about I do a home visit? Maybe Katie will open up and we can figure out some type of community school service instead of suspension. That is if that works for you Mrs. H?”

“ I’m going to take that as a yes, how about tomorrow evening say about 5 pm?’’
