Getting Naughty on Distillery Tour – Kentucky Bourbon Trail

Going on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail should be fun.

 

My friends and I have been discussing it for a long time and now, we are finally going. We decided on the regular tour and the craft bourbon tour. Either way, with me there, anything can happen. Of course, I am hoping we will be getting naughty on the distillery tour.

There are distilleries all over the state of Kentucky. It turns out Kentucky sits on top of a giant limestone shelf. And, the water flowing through there is naturally filtered and contains the minerals yeast will need to thrive. Did you know that Kentucky became a state in 1792? And, that the Maysville area had previously been known as Old Bourbon County.

Now, I am into getting naughty on a distillery tour.

Whiskey distilled from corn mash started appearing downriver from Maysville, and it quickly became known as “bourbon whiskey.” Now, initially, this area was in Virginia. Then, it became Kentucky in 1792. The area was perfect for creating some of the tastiest bourbon in the world. They are self-titled the bourbon capital of the world.

However, many throughout the world might disagree. Honestly, I don’t care if they are the capital, I just want to do this trail run and have a good time. Luckily, my guy friend who has been dying to go is open-minded and ready for whatever fun I make happen on our journey. Even if it is me as the main course.

Getting naughty on a distillery tour was on my mind at first. Then, it started to sound like a fantastic experience. One I would cherish forever.
