Cue random “The Cure” song. Here comes our guy. He strolls along his mini boardwalk, which his girlfriend built him next to the bathtub. His little leather jacket is too hot to wear next to the steaming water coming from the faucet, but that doesn’t stop him. Angst doesn’t kneel to temperature. He loves, he yearns, but he needs…more. This old Victorian Mansion is huge, but for him, it’s like an entire city. It’s the only home he’s ever known. Even with all that space, he longs to see more. But will his girlfriend allow it? Will he be the guy of her dreams or just another jerk? Is the world ready for Shrunken Goth Man?
Gina had come into a bit of money and decided to take on an old fixer-upper. It was a dream she had had for quite some time. One dark Fall afternoon, she was cleaning out a gutter, and she heard a small sound as her hose sprayed something into the air. It fell onto the pile of wet leaves below. Afraid she hurt a small animal, she climbed down from the ladder. There he lay. A Shrunken Goth Man. “What are you?” she said with wide eyes and a big smile. He just screamed uncontrollably until he passed out. When he finally awoke, he was in the mansion, with her hovering above, tending to his health with a little cold compress cotton ball. He finally felt safe, for the first time in days.
Gina wondered the same. When she finally asked, he had no clue! He said, “I just woke up there, never knowing of my life before that moment!” Gina was swooning. “Maybe you fell from the heavens! Maybe you came from space…like Superman.” Gina, with cartoon hearts practically popping from her eyeballs, was in love. He grew to care greatly for Gina, although with all his moodiness, she never felt secure. “He’s just a dark soul who feels so deeply,” She would say to her girlfriends. They, on the other hand, weren’t the biggest fans. They thought he was selfish. “ALL HE DOES IS MOPE AROUND AND LISTEN TO DEPECHE MODE, GINA!” One girlfriend shouted.
“AND BESIDES, HE LIKES A LOT OF OTHER BANDS TOO! They didn’t know the Shrunken Goth Man like she did. Gina knew he was it, the one! What the hell did they know anyway? They were just jealous! Their husbands don’t read or create. They only watch football! All of these thoughts went through Gina’s head. She got so angry that she began to punch the walls and stomp her feet. She slammed a door, but the stopper made it bounce back, right into her face. When she awoke and her vision finally became clear, she heard a little voice.
